Continuing my health genre research I read over 'Woman's Health' magazine. The magazine is mainly contributing to health tips, foods, products, and workouts. The cover of this magazine is of a young woman who appears healthy with shiny hair and smooth skin. Her clothes are form fitting and show off her healthy body, and the black of the clothes also gives the illusion she is much slimmer. And there is a contrast with the blue background and her in the foreground. The fonts emphasize words and can either overlap over the model of be placed in a formation around her. They use different colors for the type to also add a pop to that particular word. This is a women health magazine so mostly the pages relate to health with food recipe articles and fitness such as workouts and more. They have photos that relate to these articles or give instructions of how to do the particular task, such as the workouts have images of a person doing the workout. And they use bright colors in their images and some text may be enlarged if a point want to be made. The advertisements that appear through-out this magazine consist of products for skin, hair, fitness clothes, and are advertised to be made of healthy ingredients. Their main audience is young to old women and people who seek to start a healthy lives. Over four million copies have been sold, it has a circulation of 1.5 million readers, and is one of the leading events for the women's health movement. The magazine was ranked #4 on adweek media's 'hot list', as well as #2 on advertising age's annual 'A-List', in 2011, Women's Health took home a national magazine award for "General Excellence."
